– I don't see any reason why "A Centauri" should point to this star and not to the set index page disambiguating the two stars with the same name that only differs in capitalization. See also Talk:B Centauri. SevenSpheres (talk) 01:17, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- There are reasons, but none of them seem to apply here. There is a preference for the use of the Bayer designations which seems to have become stronger this century. I could speculate that Simbad has influenced people by choosing both "A Centauri" and "a Centauri" as the headline names for these stars. Of the two "a Centauri" is by far the primary topic, with barely any usages of "A Centauri". Comparison searches are complicated somewhat by both being chemically peculiar B-type stars, but I'm fairly confident that occurrences of "a Centauri" in journal papers are at least ten times more frequent than "A Centauri".
- One wrinkle: A Centauri (disambiguation) shouldn't be left behind as a redirect to a set index page. Lithopsian (talk) 13:26, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
